As part of activities under the administration of Governor Seyi Makinde to celebrate children, orphans and persons living with disabilities, the Human Capital Development (HCD) Office, under Reverend Idowu Ogedengbe has donated food items and other materials to orphanages.

According to Ogedengbe, this year’s celebration was a carefully planned outreach to take Makinde’s gospel of good governance the leaders of tomorrow at their doorsteps.

Speaking at the various orphanages visited yesterday within Ibadan metropolis, Ogedengbe highlighted some strategic efforts of Governor Makinde’s government to protect and secure their future.

The orphanages visited are the Jesus Children Missions Outreach (JCMO) and the Federation of Muslim Women’s Association of Nigeria (FOMWAN) orphanage both in Ibadan.

Accompanied by Mr. A. O. Kolapo, Director of Administration and Supplies, the Executive Assistant to the Governor, Rev. Idowu Ogedengbe, encouraged the children to stay focused on their studies and personal growth.

He emphasized the importance of focus, goal-setting, and hard work in achieving success while reiterating Governor Makinde’s unwavering dedication to providing a conducive environment for children to thrive in their academic pursuit.

At the Rehabilitation Centre for Disabled Persons in Temidire Area, Moniya area of Ibadan, Rev. Ogedengbe extended words of empathy and inspiration to individuals living with disabilities.

He urged them to uncover and nurture their innate talents, reassuring them of their inherent potential to excel in life.

The visit according to Ogedengbe aims to trigger a poignant reminder of the administration’s inclusive approach to governance and its commitment to uplifting every segment of society.

The generous donations of food items by the HCD Office were met with gratitude and appreciation by the recipients.

Mrs. Rosemary Odigbo of JCMO expressed heartfelt gratitude to Governor Makinde for his continuous support, which serves as a beacon of hope for their organization.

Similarly, Alhaja K. A. Lawal, Chairperson of FOMWAN, lauded the thoughtful gesture, which coincided with their own program for children, and offered prayers for the governor’s continued success.

Mrs. Odebunmi Eunice Olayemi, Principal of the Moniya Rehabilitation Center, welcomed the visit as both heartwarming and motivating for her team.

She expressed gratitude to Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration while highlighting the ongoing need for support in their noble endeavors.

In addition to these visits, the HCD Office collaborated with LIFEBEARERS to organize a celebratory event for children in Papa Community Waterside, Apete, Ibadan.

Furthermore, gifts were distributed to several private and public schools in Ibadan, ensuring that the spirit of Children’s Day was joyously commemorated across the city.
