The Nigerian Association of Christian Journalists (NACJ), Oyo State Chapter, has called for unity and collaboration as Christians across Oyo State and the nation usher in the New Year.
In a statement issued by the Public Relations Officer, Comrade Adeola Badru, on behalf of the chapter’s chairman, Comrade ‘Lekan Sobo Sobowale, NACJ encouraged believers to embrace the New Year with a renewed sense of purpose and faith.
The association underpinned the need for solidarity among Christians, promoting a culture of mutual support and harmony.
Highlighting the critical role of faith, the statement urged Christians to deepen their spiritual commitment and actively participate in community development.
The professional body also emphasized the responsibility of Christians to be symbols of hope, love, and compassion, especially amid current challenges such as insecurity, economic instability, and social injustices.
Oyo state chapter of NACJ equally advocated for a synergistic relationship between the government and residents to address pressing issues effectively.
The association encouraged Christians to champion peace, equity, and justice while promoting ethical behavior and civic responsibility in their various communities.
“We believe that through collective efforts, steadfast faith, and proactive community engagement, we can overcome the challenges that confront us as a society,” the statement read.
The association further advised Christians to reflect on their personal and communal goals for the year ahead, stressing the importance of prayer, fellowship, and outreach activities to promote unity and effective transformation.
Reiterating its dedication to ethical journalism, NACJ vowed to continue amplifying the voices of Christians in the media and promoting integrity in reporting while affirming that professionalism can be upheld without compromise even as practicing Christians.
