The Oyo Justice Forum, a coalition of progressive stakeholders advocating good governance in Oyo State and Nigeria, has officially declared its endorsement of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term in office come 2027.
The endorsement was made during a meeting held on Tuesday in Oyo town, commemorating the second anniversary of President Tinubu’s administration.
According to the Forum’s Coordinator, Dr. Kazeem Kolawole Raji, who also serves as the Director General of the National Board for Technology Incubation (NBTI), and the Forum’s Secretary, Olufemi Atunbi, the meeting was convened to assess the progress of the current administration and its impact on the nation.
In a unanimous resolution, the Forum praised President Tinubu’s leadership and highlighted the administration’s economic reforms, infrastructural development, and rising international profile.
“His administration’s bold decisions, including the removal of fuel subsidies and the devaluation of the naira, have set the nation on a path to fiscal sustainability and economic resilience,” the Forum stated.
The Forum acknowledged the challenges associated with these reforms but emphasized their long-term benefits.
The Forum cited a reduction in Nigeria’s fiscal deficit from 5.4% of GDP in 2023 to 3.0% in 2024, as reported by Reuters.
Further commending the Tinubu led administration, the Forum pointed to the creation of the Presidential Economic Coordination Council (PECC), chaired by President Tinubu, as evidence of his commitment to strategic economic management.
On the issue of national security, the Forum noted significant progress in combating insurgency and banditry, restoring relative stability to previously troubled regions.
It also highlighted advancements in the health sector under the leadership of Professor Ali Pate, the Minister of Health and Social Welfare.
“The revitalisation of the National Health Insurance Authority has expanded coverage and improved healthcare accessibility, especially in unserved and underserved areas,” the group noted.
The Forum also commended initiatives in the education sector, including the launch of the Nigerian Education Loan Fund (NELFund), aimed at easing students’ access to quality education.
In the agricultural sector, the establishment of the Ministry of Livestock Development was equally praised for its role in promoting self-sufficiency, wealth creation, and foreign exchange generation.
The Forum also noted the progress made by the Federal Ministry of Innovation, Science, and Technology in driving innovation and economic growth.
Also, improvements in passport processing and immigration services under the Ministry of Interior were cited as evidence of the administration’s commitment to better service delivery.
“Recognising these monumental achievements, the Oyo Justice Forum unequivocally endorses President Bola Ahmed Tinubu for a second term.
“We believe that a good term deserves another, and his continued leadership is imperative for the realisation of the Renewed Hope Agenda and the sustained progress of Nigeria,” the Forum declared.
The group pledged to mobilise support across all 33 local government areas of Oyo State to secure a decisive victory for the All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2027 general elections.
“We commend his unwavering dedication to the service of Nigeria and pledge our continued support for his leadership,” the Forum added.
