The lawmaker representing Lagelu State Constituency in the Oyo State House of Assembly, Hon. Akintunde Olajide, has commended the Executive Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Oluseyi Makinde, for his visionary leadership and dedication to democratic governance.
Hon. Olajide, popularly known as AKT, made these remarks on Saturday during an interaction with journalists at the opening of the first phase of the Olodo Bridge, aimed at easing the burden of road users along the axis.
Describing Governor Makinde’s actions as a demonstration of his commitment to delivering the dividends of democracy across the state, Hon. Olajide noted that such initiatives are critical for the rapid development and expansion of the state’s economy.
The second term state assembly lawmaker who doubles as the chairman, House Committee on Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters further appreciated Governor Makinde for his unflinching support to his constituents and the entire citizenry of the state.
Hon. Olajide stated further that the construction of the 35.6 km stretch from Iwo Road to Olodo Bank, Elesingodogbo, and Odo Oba as a significant project that will alleviate the challenges faced by the local community and stimulate economic growth in the area.
“I would like to commend His Excellency, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his purposeful leadership and the great vision he has for the Pacesetter State.
“This project is a testament to our governor’s commitment to improving the comfort and economic prosperity of our people.
“Governor Makinde has once again shown that he is a God-sent leader to the state. His love for the people, irrespective of political or religious affiliation, is clearly evident.
“He is a game-changer, a hero to many, and an icon of the state. The old Olodo Bridge was destroyed by heavy rains on July 4, 2023, causing serious inconvenience to pedestrians and motorists.
“The newly completed section of the bridge had been opened to pedestrians two weeks ago, and as of Saturday, it is now accessible to motorists as well.
“We can only express our profound appreciations to the governor and continue to support him to be able to do more.” Hon. Akintunde said.
