The Senior Managing Director of Stargate Construction company and member of the People’s Democratic Party in Lagelu local government, Ajayi Oluwaseun has felicitated the newly sworn in executive chairman of Lagelu local government and the other 32 describing their electoral victory as well deserving.
Ajayi commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his selfless commitments to the advancement of democracy in the state and its entrenchment at the grassroots.
The Lagelu born businessman cum politician expressed his felicitation in a congratulatory message made available to westernmirror.com.ng on Sunday, May 26.
Ajayi lauded Kamarudeen for his humility and servant-leader disposition to politics which has earned him his well deserved position as the executive chairman of the local government.
He equally commended the Oyo State Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) for conducting a free, fair, transparent and credible local government election in the state.
Ajayi also commended all the PDP leaders and stakeholders in Lagelu for their support towards the electoral victory of Kamorudeen and his vice chairman, Hon. Olayinka Sodiq.
Ajayi highlighted the crucial role that local government play as the third tier of government in driving development and progress within a country stressing the need to hit the ground running immediately.
“I want to urge my able executive chairman to be forward-thinking and endeavor to bring his many years of political and leadership experience to bear in governance and his approach towards sustainable growth and prosperity in Lagelu.” Ajayi said.
He however, advocated for effective leadership and strategic planning for the local government through empowerment of youths and women to address their unique challenges and explore available opportunities.
“I want to special commend Governor Seyi Makinde who has restored our sense of pride as sons and daughters of Oyo state.
” There has not been a better time to be very proud of your Oyo state origin than now because of the laudable and transformational policies and programs that has opened up the state to the rest of the world as an investment destination.
“The Governor’s deliberate action towards deepening democracy even at the grassroots is exceptional and I believe that the newly sworn in executive chairmen would emulate the governor to operate an open door and all inclusive government to engender a sense of Inclusivity at the grassroots.
