A group of suspected bandits reportedly invaded the Otu area of Iseyin/Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oke-ogun in Oyo State four days ago in a midnight attack.
The suspects abducted one resident leading to panic and apprehension among the locals.
According to eyewitness accounts, the intruders were spotted by local farmers who noticed suspicious movements within the area.
The farmers quickly raised the alarm, prompting swift action from members of the Oyo State Security Network, codenamed Amotekun.
The Amotekun operatives reportedly responded promptly and engaged the armed kidnapper in a gun duel.
During the confrontation, three of the suspected kidnappers were reportedly gunned down, while one managed to escape with the abducted victim.
Local sources confirmed that efforts are ongoing to track down the fleeing assailant and rescue the kidnapped individual.
The matter has since been formally reported to the Otu Police Division in Otu for further investigation and coordinated response.
