The Executive Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Akeem Olatunji, has sent warm birthday greetings to Dr. Saheed Ige and Hon. Fola Oyekunle, fondly called “Don,” describing both men as “fine examples of selfless leadership and dependable allies in public service.”
In a statement personally on Thursday in Ibadan, Olatunji said he was delighted to celebrate two individuals who, in different spheres, have shown genuine commitment to community development and the progress of Oyo State.
Olatunji described Dr Ige, a senior lecturer at the Ladoke Akintola University of Technology, Ogbomoso as a brother and a friend who have distinguished himself as an academic committed to imparting knowledge that transforms young Nigerians into industry captains.
“Dr. Saheed Ige is a man of rare intellect and humility. He combines knowledge with compassion, and his work in education and youth development continues to inspire many of many across the country.
He has remained consistent in his contributions to the betterment of others and the development of the academic profession, and that’s something worth celebrating,” Olatunji said.
The council boss also showered praises on Hon. Fola Oyekunle, whom he described as “a grassroots politician with a big heart and an unrelenting commitment to public service.”
According to him, “Don is not just a politician; he’s a bridge-builder between the old and new order. His passion for people and his constant readiness to lend a helping hand make him stand out and this is evident in the overwhelming outpouring of love for him by members of Ibadan North federal constituency. He has proven over time that leadership is not about titles but about impact.”
Olatunji noted that both men have been steadfast in promoting the ideals of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and in advancing Governor Seyi Makinde’s vision for inclusive governance.
He added, “In their own ways, Dr. Ige and Hon. Don have shown that leadership can be both humble and purposeful. They embody the values of loyalty, service, and empathy that our democracy needs.”
The Oluyole chairman prayed for more grace and strength for the celebrants, wishing them “long life, sound health, and continued relevance in their chosen paths.”
“As we celebrate them today, I hope their stories remind the rest of us that true greatness lies in how we use our positions to uplift others. I’m proud to call them brothers, friends, and partners in progress,” Olatunji concluded.
