The Police have confirmed the interception of a truck conveying materials suspected to be explosives, following what the Command described as a successful security operation.

The Oyo state Police Public Relation Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this to newsmen on Sunday afternoon.

According to the police briefing, operatives of the Command intercepted the vehicle during a routine operation.

The truck, along with the suspected explosive materials found inside it, has since been secured and taken into police custody.

The Police said preliminary actions were taken to ensure public safety, stressing that the situation was brought under control without incident.

The recovered items are currently being examined as part of ongoing investigations to determine their exact nature, origin, and intended use.

Authorities noted that detailed forensic and intelligence-led investigations are underway, adding that further information would be made public as findings emerge.

The Command reassured members of the public of its continued commitment to safeguarding lives and property, while urging citizens to remain vigilant and promptly report any suspicious movement or activity to security agencies.

Police sources said the interception reflects sustained efforts to prevent criminal activities and avert potential threats to public safety.
