The Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Alhaja Wasilat Adegoke, and her husband, Hon. Saminu Rilwan Gbadamosi, popularly known as Wale Canada, have held the naming ceremony of their newborn child, a son.
The ceremony drew goodwill from friends, family, and well wishers across the state.
The ceremony, which was conducted in accordance with Islamic rites, was attended by members of the Oyo State House of Assembly, led by the Speaker, Rt. Adebo Ogundoyin.
Westernmirror.com.ng gathered that the Commissioner, who traveled to the United States of America to be delivered of her newborn was physically absent from the naming ceremony on Sunday.
She however, made several family pictures with her husband public in a post sighted on her WhatsApp status.
Confirming the development in a post on his official Facebook page, the Speaker of the House of Assembly, Ogundoyin, disclosed that he led fellow lawmakers to the event in honour of their colleague, Hon. Gbadamosi, who represents Saki East/Atisbo State Constituency at the state Assembly.
He described the occasion as a spiritually uplifting moment marked by joy, prayers and expressions of goodwill, noting that the gathering reflected the unity within the state Assembly.
“On behalf of the Oyo State House of Assembly, I extend hearty congratulations to the proud parents, the Oyo State Commissioner for Youths and Sports, Hajia Wasilat Adegoke, and our dear colleague, Hon. Saminu Rilwan Gbadamosi,” the Speaker stated.
He offered prayers for the newborn, asking Almighty Allah to grant the child good health, wisdom, long life and divine guidance, while expressing hope that the child would bring joy, peace and prosperity to the family, the constituency and Oyo State at large.
