The Ibadan House of Lords has lauded the President-General of the Central Council of Ibadan Indigenes (CCII), Barrister Niyi Ajewole, in recognition of his leadership and commitment to the progress of Ibadanland.
This was as the group congratulates Ajewole on the occasion of his birthday anniversary celebration, which was described as a milestone and testament to God’s grace upon his life.
In a statement on Friday, March 20, by the Spokesman of the Ibadan based sociocultural group, Lord Lanre Latinwo, the respected body of elder prominent sons of the ancient city commended Ajewole for his dedication to promoting unity among indigenes, both at home and in the diaspora.
The House of Lords described his tenure as one characterized by purposeful engagement, inclusiveness, and a renewed sense of cultural pride.
The group noted that under Ajewole’s leadership, the CCII has continued to play a pivotal role in deepening the socio-cultural heritage of Ibadanland while also serving as a bridge between traditional institutions, government, and the people.
According to the statement, the Ibadan House of Lords expressed confidence in Ajewole’s ability to sustain the legacy of the council and further strengthen its relevance in addressing contemporary challenges facing the city.
They urged him to remain steadfast in his commitment to peace, unity, and development, emphasizing the need for collective efforts in advancing the interests of Ibadanland.
The House of Lords also reaffirmed its support for the CCII leadership, pledging continued collaboration in initiatives aimed at preserving the rich cultural heritage and enhancing the socio-economic growth of Ibadan.
