Oyo state deputy governor, Barrister Abdulroheem Adebayo Lawal, has assured the people of Oyo state that Governor Seyi Makinde remains overtly committed to the development and growth of the state.

The deputy governor stated this today while playing host to Muslim leaders and other top officials of the state government at the Ikolaba private residence of Governor Makinde shortly after the Eid-el Kabir prayer held at the Eid praying ground, Agodi Gate, Ibadan.

The deputy governor explained that Governor Makinde was unavoidably absent due to state assignment that led to his trip to Japan in far away Asia.

Barrister Lawal admonished Muslim leaders and faithful to continue to pray for the administration of Governor Makinde to be able to do more for the state.

He equally called on the people to remain committed to Oyo state project development project being championed by the governor.

He noted that Oyo state now ranks among the best states in Nigeria due to the support and cooperation enjoyed from the people and therefore, called for a self rededication towards collectively making the state more prosperous.

He solicited more support from the Muslim community and people of the state while calling for a rededication to the collective aspirations of the pacesetter state.

Earlier, the Wakil Mumini of Oyo state, Professor Kamil K. Olosho in brief address lauded the present administration under governor Makinde for its commitment to the development and growth of the state.

He charged Muslim faithful to remain steadfast in their commitments to the virtues of Islam as enshrined in the holy Quran.

Professor Olosho however, led a special prayer for the governor and his administration as well as the state at large.

Present at the brief event are Alhaji Hazeem Gbolarumi, PDP National Deputy Chairman (South) Ambassador Taofeeq Arapaja, Chairman, Local Government Pension Board; Hon. Ademola Ige, SA to the governor on Islamic Affairs; Alhaji AbdRasheed AbdAzeez.

Other notable personalities present are Alhaji Babatunde Tijani (Double T), Alhaji Ologburo, Dr Nureni Adeniran, member, Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Opeyemi Modiu, Mogaji Adanla, Oyo state PDP stalwarts, as well as some past and present state government officials.
