Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, has continued to enjoy public support and confidence as netizens on Facebook rallied in his defence, praising his administration’s merit-driven employment policies while condemning what they described as politically motivated attacks against him.

A public affairs analyst based in Ibadan, Dr. Tunde Akinwale, observed that the governor’s merit-based policies resonate strongly with young voters. “In an era where credibility matters, leaders who prioritize fairness tend to attract organic support as against media propaganda.
“What we are seeing online is a reflection of that reality because reality on ground will always defeat false propaganda in the face of scrutiny,” he said.
Despite the praise, critics of the administration have continued to question certain policy decisions, which highlighs the dynamic and often polarizing nature of political discourse in the state ahead of an electoral cycle.
However, Makinde’s supporters insist that his achievements outweigh the criticisms, urging residents to remain focused on performance rather than political rhetoric.
