An Itesiwaju Local Government-born Abuja-based media expert, Taiwo Ajayi, has commended the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for approving the conferment of a beaded crown on the Oniro of Komu.
Ajayi described the development as a historic milestone for the people of Komu and the entire Itesiwaju Local Government Area.
Ajayi, in an appreciation message obtained by westernmirror.com.ng on Tuesday, expressed profound gratitude to Governor Makinde for what he described as a bold demonstration of the administration’s commitment to strengthening traditional institutions and preserving the rich cultural heritage of Oyo State.
The Governor recently approved the conferment of a beaded crown on His Royal Highness, Oba Jonah Awujoola Olagboyega Kolade II, the Oniro of Komu.
The coronation ceremony has also been scheduled to hold on Friday, July 17, 2026, at Komu-Babaode High School, Komu.
Reacting to the approval, Ajayi said the recognition had brought immense joy, pride and renewed hope to the sons and daughters of Komu, noting that the Governor had once again demonstrated fairness and sensitivity to the aspirations of communities across the state.
According to him, the conferment of the beaded crown is not only a recognition of the Oniro’s traditional authority but also a significant boost to the cultural identity and historical relevance of the ancient town.
“We express our deepest gratitude to His Excellency for the gracious conferment of the Beaded Crown on the Oniro of Komu in Itesiwaju Local Government.
“This historic honour has brought immense joy and pride to the sons and daughters of Komu. Your commitment to strengthening our cherished traditional institution and preserving our cultural heritage is deeply appreciated,” Ajayi stated.
He prayed that God would continue to grant Governor Makinde wisdom, good health and greater success in steering the affairs of Oyo State.
Ajayi also congratulated Oba Jonah Awujoola Olagboyega Kolade II on the royal elevation, expressing confidence that the monarch would continue to foster peace, unity and sustainable development in Komu and its neighbouring communities.
He urged the people of Komu, both at home and in the diaspora, to rally behind the traditional ruler and support initiatives aimed at promoting the progress and socio-economic development of the ancient town.
“Kábíyèsí o! Long live the Oniro of Komu. Long live Oyo State,” Ajayi concluded.
