The Pace Setters Elite Women Humanitarian Initiative of Oyo has concluded arrangements to officially unveil its women-focused advocacy group as part of efforts to promote women empowerment, girl-child education and the fight against female vulnerability in society.
The event, scheduled for Thursday, July 30, 2026, will take place at Jubilee Hall, Liberty Junction, Oke-Ado, Ibadan, beginning at 10:00 a.m.
According to the organiser and Chairperson of the Non Governmental Organization, Ambassador Olushola Olagunju, the event will serve as a platform to introduce the newly established Elite Women Group while outlining its vision and programmes aimed at advancing the welfare of women and girls across Oyo State and beyond.
Themed “Role of Women in Nation Building: Training the Girl-Child, Ending Female Vulnerability in the Society,” the event is expected to bring together women leaders, professionals, policymakers, civil society organisations, traditional institutions, youth groups and members of the media to deliberate on practical strategies for empowering women as catalysts for sustainable development.
The organisers noted that discussions will focus on the importance of investing in the education, protection and economic empowerment of the girl-child, as well as addressing the social and economic challenges confronting women in contemporary society.
They explained that the initiative seeks to champion humanitarian causes by promoting gender inclusion, encouraging women to take active leadership roles and advocating policies that guarantee equal opportunities and protection for women and girls.
Speaking ahead of the event, Ambassador Olagunju said the unveiling of the Elite Women Group will mark the beginning of a broader campaign designed to mobilise women from different backgrounds to contribute meaningfully to sociopolitical and grassroots community development, as well as peacebuilding across Oyo state and nation as a whole.
She stressed that empowering women remains one of the most effective pathways to reducing poverty, strengthening families and accelerating national development.
She equally urged stakeholders to support initiatives that promote education, mentorship, entrepreneurship and social protection for women.
The conference is also expected to provide an opportunity for participants to interact with leaders of the initiative, exchange ideas on promoting gender equity and explore collaborative efforts aimed at ending female vulnerability through advocacy, capacity building and humanitarian interventions.
Members of the public, community leaders, development partners, women’s organisations and the media have been invited to attend the event.
