An Ibadan-based alternative healthcare expert, Dr Joshua Adedeji, has stated that his facility has developed natural treatment approaches capable of reversing stage four cancer and improving the conditions of patients suffering from other chronic illnesses.
Adedeji, who is the Chief Executive Officer and founder of Deway Natural Healthcare Services Limited, made the claim on Saturday while speaking during a free health mission programme organised in collaboration with Iri FM in Ibadan, Oyo State.
He said his organisation had been partnering with the radio station since May 2026 as part of efforts to provide health education and affordable healthcare support to residents of Ibadan, Oyo State and beyond.
According to him, the collaboration was established after the radio station approached Deway Natural Healthcare Services to support its listeners with alternative healthcare services.
He explained that his organisation’s philosophy was not to compete with conventional medicine but to serve as a complementary support system for orthodox healthcare.
“We stand as a support system for conventional medicine. What we are trying to do is to balance things out,” he said.
Adedeji argued that some patients continued to experience health challenges despite conventional treatment because, according to him, the underlying causes of their ailments were sometimes not adequately addressed.
He said his facility therefore places emphasis on identifying what it considers to be the root causes of health problems before commencing treatment.
“At Deway Clinic, we don’t just treat people. What we do is that we first of all check by conducting tests through our machines,” he said.
He claimed that the facility uses what was described as supersonic diagnostic machines which, according to him, can scan several organs, cells and microorganisms in the body and provide immediate results.
Adedeji said the purpose of the process was to enable practitioners at the centre determine what he described as the underlying source of a patient’s health challenge rather than simply treating symptoms.
He illustrated his point with the case of a 22-year-old woman who, according to him, was brought to his facility after being diagnosed with kidney problems and undergoing dialysis.
Adedeji claimed that after assessing the woman, he suspected that her condition was not primarily caused by kidney disease. He said the patient was subsequently given vegetables as part of the centre’s intervention before returning for another assessment.
According to him, a subsequent assessment at his facility showed that the woman’s kidney was functioning at about 75 per cent, while an infection affecting her lungs was identified as the major problem.
He said the experience reinforced his belief that patients should be properly assessed before treatment is administered.
The alternative healthcare practitioner also claimed that his facility had recorded cases involving cancer, diabetes, hypertension, arthritis, stroke, hepatitis B, kidney problems, eye conditions and other ailments.
He made a particularly strong claim regarding cancer, saying his facility could treat stage four cancer through natural products and interventions.
“I say specifically that you can treat stage four cancer. Even if it is stage four, I am not talking theory; I am talking practical,” he said.
He further claimed that some breast cancer patients had experienced significant improvement after using products from his facility, alleging that some cases were resolved without surgical intervention.
Adedeji also recounted the case of a woman with diabetes whom, he said, had been advised by doctors in different hospitals to undergo amputation of a leg.
According to him, the woman was brought to his facility and her condition subsequently improved after she was placed on the centre’s products.
He listed some of the products offered by the facility as mixed fruit drinks, mushrooms, honey, natural seasoning, sea salt and balm.
He said the facility also has equipment used for physiotherapy and rehabilitation, particularly for people living with conditions such as stroke, arthritis, poor blood circulation and body pains.
Adedeji said the centre’s approach was largely based on the use of fruits and vegetables, which he described as natural sources of nutrients required by the human body.
He argued that increased consumption of fruits and vegetables could contribute to improved health, while noting that his facility combines different natural products based on the conditions presented by patients.
He, however, maintained that his organisation does not seek to replace conventional medicine.
“We are standing as an alternative medicine, not to cancel conventional products,” he said.
The practitioner said Deway Natural Healthcare Services had been in operation for almost a decade and claimed that thousands of people from Oyo State, other parts of Nigeria and outside the country had visited the facility for assessment and treatment.
He also announced that the organisation was offering a 75 per cent discount to people accessing its services under the initiative.
According to him, the decision was motivated by the economic difficulties confronting many Nigerians and the financial burden associated with healthcare.
He said some patients were unable to commence treatment when confronted with large hospital bills and deposits, adding that his organisation had therefore introduced packages and payment arrangements designed to make its services more accessible.
“We are now coming up with how we can be of help to people, especially the masses that are suffering health-wise and don’t have the capacity to go to conventional hospitals,” he said.
He added that patients could pay gradually rather than settling their bills at once, describing the initiative as an effort to make healthcare more affordable.
Adedeji urged members of the public to pay greater attention to their health and seek appropriate medical attention when necessary.
However, medical experts generally advise cancer patients, particularly those with advanced-stage disease, not to abandon evidence-based oncology treatment in favour of unproven remedies. Claims that a natural product can reverse stage four cancer require rigorous clinical evidence and should not be interpreted as proof of an established cure.
While fruits and vegetables can form part of a healthy diet, the effectiveness and safety of any specific herbal or natural product for cancer or other serious diseases should be independently established before it is presented as a treatment.
Adedeji said the organisation would continue its collaboration with Iri FM and expand its efforts to make what he described as natural healthcare services accessible to more Nigerians.
