The Special Adviser on Legislative Matters to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, and former Majority Leader of Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. Samuel Adejumobi, popularly known as Agbarapo, has been honoured by the Ofiki Community Initiatives in Atisbo Local Government Area of the state.

The award, according to the organizers is recognition of Adejumobi’s immense contributions to grassroots development in the community.

Adejumobi, while reacting to the honor, said the recognition was a reflection of his commitment to improving the lives of residents and supporting the development of his community.

The governor’s aide recalled that he had previously facilitated the provision of a transformer and the construction of a block of three classrooms, including a decent toilet and an administrative office, for the community.

He said the projects were among several interventions he had undertaken to support the people, adding that the community decided to honour him in appreciation of his contributions.

Adejumobi, however, said the community had appealed to him to facilitate the construction of the Agunrege–Owo–Ofiki–Irawo-Wode Road, which he described as a major concern during his recent visit.

He said he had promised to meet with Governor Makinde to seek intervention on the road before the 2027 general elections.

“While we were at the community yesterday, it was tough. I promised them that, by God’s grace, I will see His Excellency, the governor. Something will be done to that before the election,” he said.

Speaking on the 2027 elections, Adejumobi expressed confidence that the people of the community would support the candidates of the Allied Peoples Movement (APM), while also backing Governor Makinde’s presidential ambition.

He said residents of Oyo State had experienced governance under different political administrations and were in a position to assess their performance based on tangible development rather than media propaganda.

“The people of Oyo State have seen the light. They have tasted governance under the APC and our party, and they know which one delivered in real life and the one that delivers on the strength of media propaganda,” he said.

Adejumobi maintained that the people of the state were interested in the consolidation and sustainability of the economic gains recorded under the Makinde administration.

He also advocated a political reset at the national level, arguing that the people of Oyo State should no longer bear the consequences of what he described as ineptitude and government failure at the centre.

The governor’s aide further appealed to residents of the state to rally behind Makinde, describing his presidential project as a serious political undertaking.

“I appeal to every individual, every indigene of Oyo State to rally around Seyi Makinde for his presidency. It is not a joke. It is a real project. It is God’s project,” he said.

Adejumobi also expressed confidence in the ability of the APM governorship candidate, Bimbo Adekanbi, to emerge victorious in the 2027 governorship election in Oyo State.

He said the people of Ofiki had accepted the party’s candidates across the various elective positions, including the governorship, Senate, House of Representatives and House of Assembly.

The politician also disclosed that another donation had been made towards the development of the community, while appreciating Governor Makinde for creating an opportunity for him to contribute to the wellbeing of his people.

He called for more development initiatives across the state, assuring the people that efforts would be made to reach communities at the grassroots.

Adejumobi also congratulated himself as the political leader of Atisbo local government while also celebrating the successful commissioning of the Seyi Makinde–Daura campaign office in Abuja.

He urged Makinde not to relent in pursuing his political ambitions, assuring him of the prayers and support of his followers.
