Former two term federal lawmaker, Honorable Abiodun Awoleye has expressed his condolences following the passing of second term member of the Federal House of Representatives, Hon. Olaide Akinremi popularly known as ‘Jagaban’.
Acknowledging the significant contributions and lasting impact of the deceased, Awoleye stated that the late lawmaker has made made impacts and played his part in the service of the nation and Ibadan North Federal Constituency where he represented since 2019 until his demise.
Awoleye, who is currently the Chairman, Oyo State Primary Healthcare Board expressed his grief in a condolence message on Thursday which was made available to newsmen.
Recall that it was earlier reported according to a statement by the family of the deceased that the Late Akinremi passed away early Wednesday after a brief illness.
Hon. Awoleye stated that even though they shared different political affiliations, he received the news of Late Akinremi with rude shock and disbelief, and prayed God to grant him passing into eternal rest.
“His death has left a void in the hearts of many who admired his dedication to public service and his stance on societal issues especially his contributions to Nigeria’s legislative institution.
“He’s played his part and left his mark as someone who came, saw, and conquered. And for him to have lived such an accomplished life as a politician at such young age is a clear testament to his legacies which he would be remembered for.
“It is my earnest prayer that God grants his immediate family, loved ones, and friends the fortitude to bear the pain of his sad departure.” Hon. Awoleye said.
