Former Nigerian President Olusegun Obasanjo yesterday paid a condolence visit to Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, following the passing of the governor’s elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.

The meeting took place at the early hours of Thursday, January 30 at the Governor’s private residence in Ibadan, where Obasanjo expressed his sympathies to the Makinde family during this period of mourning.

Engineer Sunday Makinde, aged 65, passed away on January 24, 2025. He was known for his humility, exceptional brilliance, and dedication to the progress and development of Oyo State and Nigeria.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Governor’s Forum led by it’s Chairman, Governor Bala Muhammed, yesterday described him as “a humble, exceptionally brilliant, and highly ingenious professional; a committed patriot who dedicated his life to the progress and development of Oyo State and Nigeria.”

Various organizations and individuals have continued extended their condolences to Governor Makinde and his family.
