The Oyo state Police Command has announced that over 12,000 joint security personal have been deployed for Saturday’s election.

In his breakdown, the 12,000 compromise 8,000 police personnel, 2,125 from sister services and other agencies excluding the Nigerian Army.

The Commissioner of Police, Adebola Hamzat disclosed this today at a joint security press briefing held at the state police command, Eleyele, Ibadan.

While warning unscrupulous elements to steer clear of tomorrow’s election, the Police boss stated that anyone found attempting to disrupt a peaceful exercise would made to face to the full wrath of the law.

He equally warned government officials and important personalities with personal security details to avoid going out with their personal securities.

This, he said was to avoid intimidation of voters who may not have such personal securities from performing their civil duties at the polling units.

CP Hamzat assured that every areas of the state is covered and voters can freely go out and exercise their rights at the poll.

In another development, the Chairman of OYSIEC, Aare Isiaka Olagunju described the invasion of its office in Okeho on Thursday (yesterday) as unfortunate wondering why its office would be targeted for such attack.

He however assured that no OYSIEC material was carted awayand that voters should endeavour to conduct themselves in a peaceful and orderly manner at the poll tomorrow.

While also assuring that OYSIEC materials, both sensitive and none sensitive are intact and appealed to the police to immediately arrest of the hoodlums.
