The ancient city of Ibadan witnessed a blend of grandeur and celebration of life of Late Mrs. Deborah Titlayo Adeaga (Nee Oguntade), on Friday as the burial reception turned into a social spectacle that attracted high-profile personalities and notable political figures in Oyo state.

Hon. Dawood Olalere, Hon. Ige, and Oyo TUC Chairman, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro yesterday at the event.

The event, organized by Josiah’s partner, was nothing short of opulent. The venue was adorned with exquisite floral arrangements and gold-accented décor. The ceremony drew influential personalities, including loyalists of Oyo State Governor Seyi Makinde, further elevating its status.

The burial reception held yesterday, January 10, in Ibadan, the Oyo state capital, where guests were hosted to an exquisite and lavish reception party.

The deceased, whose life was celebrated by her daughter, Ogun state born Ms Stella Oludayo Adeaga, UK based trained Healthcare Manager, and partner of Hon. Femi Josiah.

Friends and political associates of Hon. Josiah, a former lawmaker at the Oyo state House of Assembly and immediate past Special Assistant on Community Relation to Governor Seyi Makinde, were in attendance to honor one of their own.

Some of the high profile personalities that graced the event include former Commissioner of Police and Executive Assistant on Security Matters to Governor Seyi Makinde, Compol Sunday Odukoya, Executive Chairman, Oyo state House Corporation, Hon. Ademola Omotosho, Chairman of Local Government Pension Board, Hon. Ademola Ige.

Other notable personalities present include serving member of the 10th Oyo state House of Assembly representing Ibadan North West state constituency, Hon. Dawood Olalere D Al-Ameen, Executive chairman of Ibadan North West Local Government, and Hon. Rahman Adepoju.

Other special guests and friends of Hon. Josiah include the Chairman, Trade Union Congress (TUC) Oyo state council, Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, PDP stalwart and Bobadara of Sooro kingdom in Ikale, Ondo state; Chief Olabode Oladipo, a business mogul and chairman of Emerald Emporium, Mr Shaheed Adeyemo, an Ibadan based entrepreneur; Emeka Nwagu, and Engr. Ismail Mohammed (Alhajji Kunle Cigar) among others.

Governor Makinde’s loyalists, led by key members of his administration, arrived the venue in style as their presence added a political glamour to the otherwise private occasion.

Guests were treated to a lavish evening of entertainment that featured a fusion of Nigerian and international cuisines, complemented by live music from top music entertainers.

The highlight of the evening was a heartfelt tribute by a special praise singer, who praised late Mrs. Adeaga for her unwavering support fir her children as well as her motherly guidance throughout her lifetime.

In her brief remark, Josiah’s partner, Ms Adeaga said: “This is a celebration of her life and the love she poured into all of us. She was a mother not just to me, but to so many others who were touched by her kindness, we will sorely miss her forever but we’re consoled by the legacies she left behind.”
