The Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE) in Oyo State has commended the Chairman of Oluyole Local Government, Akeem Olatunji, following his installation as the Asiwaju of Oluyole.
The union described him as a model of worker-friendly leadership, urging more public officials to emulate his commitment to staff welfare and grassroots development.
The Oyo NULGE president, Comrade Ayobami Adeogun, while speaking to newsmen on Saturday, February 15 at the venue of the installation ceremony held in Ibadan, lauded Olatunji’s unrelenting support for local government workers in Oluyole LG, citing his efforts in ensuring prompt salary payments, improved working conditions, and career progression opportunities.
“We need more leaders like him in Oyo State, leaders who prioritize the welfare of workers and understand that a motivated workforce is key to effective governance.
“His installation as Asiwaju Oluyole is a well-deserved honor, it is a clear recognition of his immense contributions to both the local government and the people of Oluyole LG since assumption of office.
“Asiwaju Olatunji’s title clearly symbolizes unity among the three major faiths in Oluyole. The leadership of the Christian community, Muslim, and African traditional worshippers are all present here including members of the highly respected Olubadan in-council. That says alot.
“He has proved himself worthy as a true follower of governor Seyi Makinde who has continued to prioritize the welfare and well-being of Oyo workers from inception of his administration. These are the kinds of leaders we want.
“Leaders who are not only using their tenure to improve on the quality of life of the people but also raising others to take after them.
“We’re not surprised at this rare honor bestowed on him. Asiwaju Akeem Olatunji has continued to work tirelessly for not just his people but also LG workers who are now proud of their career in the service.
“We hope that this honor will be a motivation for others because the world is watching everyone entrusted with power in trust for the people, Comrade Adeogun stated.
Meanwhile, westernmirror.com.ng had earlier reported how the deputy governor of Oyo state, Barrister Bayo Lawal and other dignitaries who graced the installation ceremony over the weekend showered encomium on Asiwaju Olatunji’s leadership.
