As the date draws near for the House of Representatives bye-election scheduled for August 16, 2025, in Ibadan North Federal Constituency, a prominent political support group, The GSMists, has thrown its full weight behind the candidacy of Hon. Fola Oyekunle, popularly known as DON, of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
Under the leadership of Prince Oluyinka Tella and his coordinating team, The GSMists have rolled out a series of strategic mobilization and awareness activities aimed at boosting the PDP candidate’s visibility and support base across the constituency.
According to the Chief Coordinator and Director of The GSMists, Hon. Yomi Olajide, popularly known as Royal Umbrella, the group has already commenced the erection of campaign billboards at key locations in the constituency.
Also, posters, flyers, radio jingles, and other publicity materials are being deployed to sensitize the electorate on the importance of the upcoming bye-election.
“Our commitment to the PDP and the candidacy of Hon. Fola Oyekunle is unwavering. We have lined up extensive programmes to engage and educate the people of Ibadan North on why they should entrust their mandate to DON,” Olajide stated.
He further disclosed that the GSMists Volunteers 4 DON, a grassroots-focused wing of the group, is already mobilizing support at the ward and unit levels, reaching out to voters in every nook and cranny of the federal constituency.
The group however, reiterated its belief in the leadership of Governor ‘Seyi Makinde, whose developmental strides inspired the formation and mission of The GSMists.
They equally expressed confidence that with concerted efforts and community engagement, the PDP will secure a resounding victory in the August 16 bye-election.
