…House of Reps aspirant, Taiwo Ajayi donates 6,000 exercise books to all wards
The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State, on Monday, demonstrated a renewed show of strength and unity to reaffirm its readiness for the 2027 general elections.
The event, held in Otu area of the Council amid cheers, party songs, and a colorful display of PDP flags and banners, brought together key party figures, local executives, and grassroots mobilizers who reaffirmed their commitment to sustaining the party’s dominance in Oyo State and beyond.
Leading the charge was the Oyo State PDP Chairman, Hon. Dayo Ogungbenro, who declared that the PDP remains the people’s preferred choice in the state.
He credited Governor Seyi Makinde for redefining governance through people-centered policies and infrastructural development which he said has reshaped the state’s socio-economic landscape.
Ogungbenro particularly highlighted Makinde’s strides in road infrastructure across the Oke-Ogun geopolitical zone, describing them as a turning point for the region’s economic growth.
“With what Governor Makinde has done, Oke-Ogun now stands as an economic powerhouse especially in term of local economy built around agribusiness.
“The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo should prepare for a long sabbatical holiday beyond 2027 because PDP is not just winning, we’re governing with evidence-backed results.”
The state chairman urged members to remain united and continue what he called “aggressive grassroots mobilization,” stressing that strength at the community level would secure the PDP’s enduring success.
Also speaking at the event, Hon. Taiwo Ajayi, a leading federal House of Representatives aspirant from Komu, described the event as “a powerful reminder that the PDP is alive and thriving in Itesiwaju.”
He donated 6,000 copies of exercise books for distribution across all wards in the council, a gesture he said was aimed at complimenting Makinde’s reforms in the education sector and support for parents in the grassroots.
Ajayi, who had provided several grassroots empowerment schemes across different parts of his federal constituency, reaffirmed the PDP’s loyalty to Governor Makinde.
He said, “Itesiwaju PDP is for Seyi Makinde any day, any time. Wherever he goes, we will go. We’re unfazed by the exit of any member. We don’t believe in audio popularity but visible presence at the grassroots in terms of direct impacts on the lives of the people.
“Our focus is on collective growth as a party, we’re mobilization, and ensuring that we record landslide victory in 2027 and beyond.”
In his remarks while speaking with journalists, businessman and governorship hopeful, Beulah Adeoye, commended the turnout, describing it as “organic and driven by trust.”
“The crowd you see here today is not about money or promises. It’s about belief. People have seen what PDP governance looks like, and they want more of it,” he said.
Speaking on the exit of Senator Hosea Agboola from the PDP in Itesiwaju LG, Adeoye maintained that the PDP remains an institution far greater than any individual. He maintained that while some exercise their rights to exit the party, others are trooping in to join.
Representing party leaders in the local government, Emmanuel Taiwo Akinleye described the massive attendance as “a reflection of years of consistency and collective effort.”
He reaffirmed the local leadership’s alignment with Governor Makinde’s developmental vision and transformational policies particularly in the Iseyin/Itesiwaju/Kajola/Iwajowa federal constituency.
Earlier, the PDP Chairman in Itesiwaju Local Government, Monsuru Olayemi, commended members for their enthusiasm and commitment. He assured them that the local chapter would continue to strengthen its base ahead of 2027.
“We are not leaving anything to chance,” Olayemi said. “We’re working ward by ward, person by person, to ensure PDP remains the home of the people.”
Party stakeholders unanimously expressed their optimism, with chants of solidarity that reverberates in the over 1,000 capacity hall and venue of the meeting.
