In the wake of the just concluded local government elections in Oyo State, Honorable Adegbola Oyeleke, the Special Adviser On Budget and Economic Planning to the state Governor has showered accolades on Governor Seyi Makinde for his visionary leadership that has birthed successful conduct of two council polls within only five years.
He said the governor’s efforts towards leaving a legacy of entrenched democratic principles in the society for future generations was not only commendable but also worthy of emulation by other states across the 774 LGAs in the country.
The former state assembly legislator equally commended the Oyo state Independent Electoral Commission (OYSIEC) under the leadership of Aare Isiaka Olagunju for overseeing a peaceful, free, fair, credible, and transparent local government election in the state.
The Ogbomoso born Real Estate expert cum politician gave the commendation in a statement made available to westernmirror.com.ng on Monday morning (today).
“Governor Makinde’s visionary leadership and the diligent efforts of OYSIEC have truly entrenched democracy at the grassroots.
“OYSIEC’s adherence to electoral guidelines and its proactive measures to ensure a smooth voting process have again demonstrate the political will and capacity of the commission to conduct and manage even a higher electoral responsibility.” Hon. Oyeleke stated.
Hon congratulates the chairmen-elect and their councillors for the victory recorded in the election and equally advised that they should emulate Gov Makinde leadership style and approach in order to deliver dividends of democracy to the people in their various council areas.
He called on all stakeholders to rally behind the elected officials and work together towards the common goal of progress and prosperity for all.
