An awardee at the event

It was a night of glitz and glamour as political and social elites gathered at the prestigious 2024 Solutions FM Awards held in Ibadan, the Oyo State capital.

The event which was a celebration of excellence, leadership and philanthropy in terms of recognition of selfless service to humanity, saw distinguished figures from various fields and sectors of society, with some of Governor Seyi Makinde’s men taking center stage.

Westernmirror.com.ng reports that the award night, which held on December 6 in Ibadan, attracted dignitaries including politicians, philanthropists, media personalities, and entrepreneurs from across the state.

Two key personalities directly associated with governor Seyi Makinde, who bagged prestigious awards in different categories were the Chairman, Committee for the upgrade of Ibadan Airport to International standards, Hon. ADEKANMBI Bimbo and second term member of Oyo state House of Assembly, Hon. FOWOKANMI Oluwafemi.

While Hon. Adekanmbi bagged “Man of Honor” award, Hon. Fowokanmi representing Ibadan South West II received the Outstanding Member of Oyo State Assembly award.

Others who bagged awards were Senator representing Oyo south, Sharafadeen Alli Best Senator Of The Year Award; Member, House Of Reps’ for Ido/Ibarapa constituency, Hon Aderemi Oseni, Best Federal Honourable Of The Year Award and Pastor Matthew Ashimolowo, Philanthropist Of The Year Award.

Other notable personalities who bagged various awards include Solution FM Founder and Chairman; Oloye Taofeeq Adegboyega ADEGOKE (FCA), Dr AKANDE Kazeem, Adedokun Adeolu ATANDA, Princess Yetunde ADEGOKE, among others.

Addressing newsmen shortly before the receiving his award, Oloye Adegboyega reflected on his humble beginning growing up as a child and his journey through the transformative changes in the life span of the media organization since it’s inception three years ago said, he would continue to impact the society with positivity and push people to aspire for the peak of their life aspirations while also prioritizing family and personal well-being.

He assured that the journey towards a better future for Solutions FM was far from over, with more projects and initiatives in the pipeline for 2025 to outpace other competitors in the broadcast media in the state.

“Each time I look back, and I remember how I grow up, what I passed through, how I was my own mentor, each time I remember, right from primary to secondary to A level, to University, it was tough because I wasn’t born with a silver spoon, I’ll always like to give back to the society,” Oloye Adegoke said

Westernmirror.com.ng reports that the evening was not only a celebration of service and dedication to humanity but also a showcase of local talent as a young lady who displayed an impressive talent in rap music went home with a hundred dollar spontaneous prize award.

Also speaking to newsmen, Hon. Adekanmbi who was a former commissioner for finance in the state expressed gratitude to the award organizers for selecting him for the honor despite his passion for impacting the society without making noise about it.

“I want to thank Solutions FM for this award, it’s a recognition that whatever you’re doing, someone is watching. Let’s do our things in our little corner, don’t wait for government, let’s try to do our bit.” He said.

In his brief remarks while fielding questions from journalists, Hon. Fowokanmi, who hinted at aspiring for a higher political office away from the state level come 2027 thanked the organizers for finding him worthy as a recipient of the prestigious award.

Fowokanmi therefore, appealed to privileged members of the society to show more empathy towards the less privileged especially in the current economic hardship faced by many Nigerians saying: ” “in any position you find yourself, it’s a privilege to serve, do it wholeheartedly, and bear in mind that there is a record for every activity you’re doing and aspire to be a blessing. Let others be lifted through you.”
