The Chairman of the Oyo State Council of the Trade Union Congress (TUC), Comrade Bosun Olabiyi-Agoro, has expressed heartfelt condolences to Governor Seyi Makinde over the passing of his elder brother, Engineer Sunday Makinde.
In a statement issued on Friday, Olabiyi-Agoro described the loss as a painful and irreplaceable one, not only for the Makinde family but also for the people of Oyo State who have benefited immensely from the governor’s leadership.
He urged the Makinde family to find solace in the enduring legacy of the deceased, who was known for his humility and contributions to the development of Ibadan land and the state.
“We at the Trade Union Congress of Nigeria, Oyo State chapter, deeply sympathize with His Excellency, Governor Seyi Makinde, and the entire Makinde family on this tragic loss.
Engineer Sunday Makinde’s demise is a great loss to all of us. We pray for the strength and grace to bear this irreparable loss,” the statement read.
Comrade Olabiyi-Agoro also encouraged the governor to remain strong during this difficult time, assuring him of the union’s unwavering support and solidarity.
The late Sunday Makinde who was the Bada Olubadan and head of the Aigbofa Family, who passed away earlier on Friday, was described as a pillar of support to the governor and a respected figure in his community.
