Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, has paid a heartfelt tribute to his late father, Pa Olatubosun Makinde, on the 13th anniversary of his passing.
In an emotional post shared on his official Facebook page on Tuesday, the governor reflected on the enduring legacy of his father and the personal impact of his absence.
“Today, we remember our beloved father, Pa Olatubosun Makinde on the 13th anniversary of his passing,” Governor Makinde wrote.
“We miss his wisdom that guided us in making tough decisions and the joy of simple moments we shared. Though he is no longer with us, we are comforted by the thought that he is resting peacefully. Rest on dad, till we meet to part no more,” Makinde said.
The late Pa Olatubosun Makinde was known for his strong family values, discipline, and guidance; principles that have continued to influence Governor Makinde’s leadership style and public service.
The anniversary comes at a time when the governor is widely acknowledged for his people-centered policies and infrastructural strides, which many believe reflect the moral compass and ideals instilled in him by his father.
