President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has approved the recall of Mr. Salihu Abdullahi Dembos as Director-General of the Nigerian Television Authority (NTA), reversing recent management changes in the national broadcast outfit.

Bayo Onanuga, Special Adviser to the President on Information and Strategy, confirmed the development in a statement issued on Tuesday, September 2, 2025.

Mr. Dembos, who was first appointed in October 2023, had briefly vacated the post following new leadership announcements.

With the President’s directive, he will now return to continue and complete his three-year tenure.

Similarly, President Tinubu has reinstated Mr. Ayo Adewuyi as Executive Director of News at the NTA. Adewuyi, appointed in 2024, is also to complete his three-year term, which is expected to run until 2027.

The latest presidential directive nullifies the recently announced appointments of a new director-general, executive director of news, executive director of marketing, and managing director of NTA Enterprises.
