The Founder of One Love Family, Satguru Maharaj Ji, has called for the immediate dismissal of Mrs. Abike Dabiri-Erewa, Chairman of the Nigerians in Diaspora Commission (NiDCOM), following her alleged derogatory remarks against the Igbo ethnic group.
In a statement issued on Wednesday, Maharaj Ji described Dabiri’s purported comments allegedly referring to Igbos as “monkeys, children of gorillas, and bastards” as deeply offensive, divisive, and unbecoming of a senior government official.
He said such remarks, if left unchecked, could ignite unnecessary ethnic tension and destabilize the country’s fragile unity.
In his words: “The multi-dimensional hatred and spurious vilification of Igbos by Abike Dabiri is highly condemnable, repugnant, and absolutely unacceptable,” Maharaj Ji stated.
“What could possibly drive a public officer to make such reckless and outrageous utterances? Her actions are capable of causing disaffection and political unrest if not urgently addressed.”
The spiritual leader described Dabiri’s conduct as “lawless and uncontrolled,” accusing her of using her public position to promote division rather than harmony. He insisted that Nigeria’s diversity should be a source of strength and not a weapon for hate or exclusion.
“Abike Dabiri should be relieved of her position to serve as a deterrent to others like her,” Maharaj Ji continued. “No one should be treated as a sacred cow.
“This is not just an insult to the Igbo people but to all Black people everywhere. Nigeria’s pluralism is God-given, and we must protect it through peace, tolerance, and unity.”
Citing a column by Azuka Onwuka published in The Punch on September 9, 2025, which also questioned Dabiri’s continued stay in office, Maharaj Ji urged President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to take decisive action to uphold justice and national cohesion.
“I call on Mr. President to sack her without delay,” he declared. “Her actions show recklessness and indiscipline unbecoming of a public servant. We need peace and love in Nigeria, not hatred and troublemakers.”
He however reaffirmed his faith in the country’s leadership and the vision of a united Nigeria.
“Long live President Tinubu. Long live the Federal Republic of Nigeria. My divine love and blessings to all,” the statement concludes.
