Leaders of the Interfaith Forum in Iwajowa Local Government Area have lauded Governor Seyi Makinde for what they described as his steady, thoughtful leadership in strengthening peaceful coexistence and interreligious harmony across Oyo State.
The group, led by Pastor Oyebisi James Oyewumi, who coordinates the Interfaith Affairs Forum for the Oke Ogun zone, paid a courtesy visit to the Special Assistant to the Governor on Interfaith Affairs, Reverend Femi Ibikunle, in Ibadan yesterday.
The meeting offered an extended moment for strategic discussion on the state’s current atmosphere of peace and the growing cooperation among religious communities.
During the discussion, the forum’s representatives expressed appreciation for the governor’s consistent efforts to involve faith leaders in governance and conflict prevention.
They noted that his approach has helped defuse tensions at their roots and encouraged mutual understanding among residents.
Pastor Oyewumi explained that the forum has witnessed tangible improvements in Oke Ogun, where diverse religious traditions meet daily.
According to him, the administration’s repeated emphasis on fairness and inclusion has shaped a climate where dialogue is easier and community interactions are more stable.
Reverend Ibikunle, who hosted the delegation, said the courtesy visit reflected the depth of partnership between government institutions and faith bodies.
He highlighted the value of early engagement with local leaders and reaffirmed the state’s commitment to sustaining peace through policies that give every group a sense of belonging.
The delegation pledged continued support for the governor and his administration, saying their cooperation is grounded in the shared goal of keeping Oyo State safe, united and forward-looking.
