… Congratulates newly elected Oyo NUJ leadership under Comrade Akeem Abas

A governorship aspirant ahead of the 2027 general election, Hon Adejumobi Samuel Ademola, popularly known as Agbarapo, has received two separate recognitions from institutions in Oyo State.

Each of the institutions praised the influence of Agbarapo, who is currently the Special Adviser on Legislative Matters to the Oyo state governor’s influence and steady commitment to public service, education as well as grassroots community welfare.

Comprehensive High School, Irawo, in Atisbo Local Government, wrote an official letter of nomination for the award and another appreciation letter to acknowledge his input to the successful outcome the school’s annual event.

The school described Agbarapo’s contributions as invaluable, particularly his recent intervention that improved facilities and strengthened the learning environment for students and staff.

In a letter jointly signed by the Sport Chairman, Mr Otunla A. R.; Sport Director, Mr Okanlawon J. A.; Sport Secretary, Miss Taiwo V. I.; and the Principal, Mrs Olayiwola S., the school emphasized that Agbarapo’s commitment to excellence and belief in quality education would remain a lasting legacy within its walls.

The award was presented to Agbarapo, who was also a former Majority Leader of the Oyo State House of Assembly during the institution’s 45th Annual Inter-Houses Sports on December 9, 2025.

In a similar development, the Aare Alawo Ekun Festival of Peace, Ofikiland, also conveyed its appreciation to the governor’s aide.

In a separate letter issued from the palace of Alayeluwa Oba Gbenga Adigun Adeoye Oyetunji Oyinlola II, Agbarapo was commended for generously sponsoring the upcoming “Celebrating the Senior Citizens” event, a programme designed to honour elders and promote communal bonding.

The festival’s Organizing Secretary, Prince David Adeoye, stated that the support had enabled the committee to plan a meaningful and dignifying celebration for senior citizens, adding that Agbarapo’s contribution would “put smiles on their faces and strengthen community spirit.”

Both institutions in their letters emphasized the positive impact of Agbarapo’s interventions and his consistent engagement with education, culture and grassroots development.

The dual honours, they noted, reflect his hands-on approach to public service and his willingness to support projects that improve lives across Oyo State, particularly at the grassroots.

Agbarapo, in his brief remarks has assured that he will continue contribute to the socioeconomic and sociocultural well-being of his people in Atisbo local government and the entire Oke-ogun.

He said the supportive effects were meant to compliment what he described as the giant strides of governor Seyi Makinde in Oke-ogun geopolitical zone.

Meanwhile, Agbarapo has expressed felicitations to the new leadership of the Nigerian Union of Journalists, NUJ, Oyo state chapter under Comrade Akeem Abas who emerged winner and successor of immediate past chairman, Ademola Babalola.

He expressed optimism in the confidence reposed in Abas and urged him to run an all inclusive administration that engenders sense of belonging among members of the union.

He assured that both political actors and media stakeholders will continue to deepen cooperation as partners in progress in the advancement of democratic and good governance in Oyo state.
