Stakeholders of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Itesiwaju Local Government Area of Oyo State have unanimously endorsed the presidential ambition of Governor Seyi Makinde ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The endorsement was part of resolutions reached at a joint stakeholders’ meeting held on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at the Legislative Building, Itesiwaju Local Government Secretariat, Otu.
In a communiqué issued at the end of the meeting, the stakeholders said they had resolved to mobilise political structures and supporters from ward to ward across the local government area towards the actualisation of Makinde’s presidential aspiration.
The communiqué indicated that the meeting extensively deliberated on political developments in Itesiwaju Local Government, Oyo State and the country at large before arriving at key resolutions.
According to the communiqué, “The meeting unanimously endorsed the presidential aspiration of Engr. Seyi Makinde and pledged total commitments towards mobilizing our political structures and stakeholders across Itesiwaju Local Government Area to actualize the realization of this timely aspiration.”
The stakeholders also formally adopted the PDP/APM alliance at the local government level, pledging to work collectively and harmoniously to secure victory for the coalition in the 2027 elections.
“The stakeholders resolved to work collectively, harmoniously, and tirelessly towards securing victory for the alliance in the 2027 general elections across board,” the communiqué added.
The meeting further commended Governor Makinde for ongoing infrastructural projects in the area, particularly the road construction project from Okaka to Babaode, alongside other developmental initiatives across communities in the local government.
The stakeholders expressed “profound appreciation” to the governor for what they described as his administration’s commitment to development and infrastructure delivery in the state.
A vote of confidence was also passed on Governor Makinde and the Chairman of the PDP in Oyo State, Hon. Dayo Ogunbenro, in recognition of their leadership styles, commitment to party unity and dedication to the progress of the state.
“The stakeholders unanimously passed a vote of confidence on the leadership of His Excellency, Governor Oluwaseyi Abiodun Makinde, the Executive Governor of Oyo State, and on the leadership of Hon. Dayo Ogunbenro, Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Oyo State, in recognition of their exemplary leadership styles, commitment to party unity, and dedication to the growth and progress of Oyo State,” the communiqué read.
The communiqué was signed on behalf of the Itesiwaju LGA PDP/APM Stakeholders’ Meeting by Hon. Wale Ajala, Chairman of the Communiqué Drafting Committee; Hon. Taiwo Ajayi, Secretary of the committee; Hon. Soliu Mutairu; Hon. Ajibade Rasheed; and Mr. Akinleye A.T as members.
It was also endorsed by the PDP Chairman in Itesiwaju Local Government, Hon. Nurudeen Alowonle, and the PDP Secretary in the council area, Mr. Agoro Iliyas Abimbola.
