The immediate past Chairman of the Oyo State Rural Water and Sanitation Agency (OYORUWASSA), Engineer Najeem Omirinde, has formally defected from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
Omirinde made the switch at the APC Ward 6 general meeting in Saki West Local Government Area, where he was received by party leaders and members on Friday.
Omirinde served as OYORUWASSA Chairman under Governor Seyi Makinde’s administration during the first term.
However, since Governor Makinde announced his replacement, the former PDP chieftain has reportedly withdrawn from active participation in PDP affairs.
His absence from the just concluded PDP Congress in Oyo state where new executives emerged further confirmed his departure speculation.
