The Oyo State Police Command has arrested an Indian national and two security guards attached to Karma Agric Feeds and Foods Limited in Ibadan over an alleged assault on two truck drivers, an incident that has gone viral on social media.
The arrests followed the circulation of a video showing the alleged assault at the company’s premises along the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway, prompting the police to launch an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.
The Command’s Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, disclosed this in a statement on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, saying the police were alerted to the video at about 8:30 a.m.
According to the statement, the Commissioner of Police, Oyo State Command, CP Abimbola Ayodeji Olugbenga, immediately directed detectives to identify and apprehend those involved.
The statement said preliminary investigations indicated that the confrontation stemmed from a disagreement over the parking of a truck that had delivered goods to the company on Saturday.
It explained that the truck owner, 47-year-old Akinpelu Sarafa, alleged that the driver had objected to a designated parking space because he feared it could damage the truck’s tyres.
However, the driver was reportedly compelled to park at the location, where one of the tyres subsequently burst.
The disagreement allegedly escalated when the driver requested a replacement tyre, but the company reportedly declined to provide one.
In reaction, the driver allegedly used his truck to block the company’s entrance, triggering a physical confrontation involving the drivers, security operatives and an Indian national associated with the company.
The police identified the two victims as Ridwan Olajide, a 34 year old, and Taiwo Yinusa, a 37 year old.
Both were reportedly taken to a hospital in the Academy area of Ibadan for medical attention.
The statement added that the investigating police officer visited the victims at the hospital and obtained their statements as part of efforts to establish the facts surrounding the incident.
The three suspects arrested were identified as Olowu Oluwadamilare and Sodeke Olamide, both security operatives attached to the company, and Harjit Singh, a 46-year-old Indian national associated with the firm.
The police said investigations were ongoing to determine the respective roles of the suspects and establish the culpability of all parties involved.
The case has subsequently been transferred to the Special Enquiry Bureau (SEB), Eleyele, Ibadan, for further investigation and necessary action in accordance with the law.
Reaffirming the Command’s commitment to protecting lives and property, the police said the law would apply equally to individuals and organisations, irrespective of their status.
The Command also urged members of the public to remain calm and allow investigators to conclude their work, warning that anyone found culpable would be dealt with in accordance with the law.
The police has also provided the Oyo State Call Response Centre’s toll-free number, 615, and the Command Control Room numbers, 08081768614 and 07055495413, for members of the public seeking assistance.
