Family, friends, and distinguished guests gathered in a joyous celebration at the Gilgal Restoration Cathedral of Assemblies of Bride of Christ Mission, Oju-Irin, Ibadan, to honour Bishop (Dr.) Amos Siyanbola Dahunsi as he marked his 80th birthday.
The event which held in Ibadan, earlier in the week, witnessed the convergence of notable personalities within the Christian community and the media industry in Oyo state.
The key highlight of the event was the presentation of a garland of honour to Bishop Dahunsi, which was a symbolic gesture representing the deep respect, love, and gratitude of all whose lives he has touched through decades of tireless spiritual leadership, mentorship, and service to humanity.
The event also featured moving tributes, prayers, and joyful festivities, celebrating a life dedicated to faith, compassion, and impactful service across generations.
A key moment was the unveiling of a new book titled “PATHWAYS TO PURPOSE: The Life and Influence”, which chronicles Bishop Dahunsi’s genealogy, life journey, and experiences, from his humble beginnings as a bricklayer to becoming a building consultant, school founder, and revered bishop.
The book seeks to inspire the younger generation towards purposeful living as well as impactful life.
In an emotional tribute, Rev’d Niyi Dahunsi, son of the celebrant and Lead Pastor of His Pavilion Christian Centre (HPCC), described his father as “an Oak and a man of many parts,” praising his role not just as a mentor to his children, but as a positive influence on everyone he encountered.
“We have come here to celebrate an Oak who has achieved so much. Eighty meaningful years — he is a success all around,” Rev’d Niyi Dahunsi declared.
Delivering the sermon, Bishop Samuel I. Olumakinde Alawode of Maranatha Lord Cometh Ministries, Ibadan, urged attendees to live lives of positive impact, emphasizing that one’s past does not define one’s future.
“As long as you are living, you can always rewrite your story. Work on your weaknesses; don’t die in your sin. Take care of your health, follow health rules, and you will live long,” Bishop Alawode admonished.
In his response, Bishop Amos Siyanbola Dahunsi, flanked by his wife, Pastor Alice Dahunsi, expressed profound gratitude to all guests and participants.
“Today is all about my entire life,” he reflected, urging everyone to embrace perseverance, focus, and unwavering faith in God in order to live a life of purpose.
