The President of the Nigeria Union of Local Government Employees (NULGE), Oyo State chapter, Comrade Ayobami Olusegun Adeogun, has expressed confidence in the newly appointed Chairman, Oyo State Local Government Service Commission, Hon. Akinwale Akinwole.
He also congratulated other members of the commission who were appointed alongside the chairman.
The labour leader made this known in a statement forwarded to Westernmirror.com.ng on Tuesday, April 29.
This follows the recent announcement of the appointments through a letter signed by the Chief of Staff to the Governor, Honourable Segun Ogunwuyi.
The other new appointees include Mr. Yusuf Ali Akinkunmi (Full-Time Member), Alhaji Oke Taiwo (Full-Time Member),
Mr. John Abisoye Adisa-Oke (Part-Time Member), and Mrs. Nike Arewa (Part-Time Member).
Describing the appointments as a “carefully considered selection,” Comrade Adeogun praised the Oyo State Governor, Engr. Seyi Makinde, for his continued commitment to strengthening the local government system in the state.
He emphasized that the appointments reflect the governor’s dedication to grassroots development, administrative reform, and institutional excellence.
“To the newly appointed Chairman, Bashorun Akinwale Akinwole, and members of the Commission, I extend my congratulations.
“Your appointments are no doubt a testament to your proven records of service, loyalty, and competence,” Adeogun said.
He urged the appointees to embrace their roles with a deep sense of responsibility and vision, noting the critical role the Local Government Service plays in the overall development of the state.
“I am confident that your wealth of experience and dedication will inspire transformative change, enhance workforce morale, and elevate service delivery across the local government system,” he added.
According to the statement, Adeogun also lauded Governor Makinde for his unwavering support for institutional development and merit-based appointments.
He described the governor as “the People’s Governor” and commended him for his strategic and fearless leadership in placing the right individuals in critical positions.
“This latest move is yet another milestone in Governor Makinde’s efforts to build a robust, people-centered, and development-driven local government system,” he said.
He equally expressed optimism that their tenure would be impactful and historic in the annals of local government administration in Oyo State.
