The Allied Peoples Movement (APM) in Lagelu Local Government Area of Oyo State has welcomed the return of Engr. Samson Ajayi, Chief Executive Officer of Stargate Construction, to its fold ahead of the 2027 general elections.

Ajayi, a prominent political stakeholder in the local government and a member of the ‘Boye Nation’ movement, was formally received by the APM Local Government Chairman, Alhaji Mudashiru Kamorudeen.

Ajayi’s return to the APM has been described by party loyalists in the council as a boost to the party’s grassroots mobilisation efforts.

Ajayi had spent some months outside the APM political structure before returning to the party, where he had previously played an active role.

Receiving him back, Kamorudeen said Ajayi’s return reflected his commitment to the development of Lagelu and the APM structure in the local government.

“We have basically reclaimed our own,” the chairman said, describing Ajayi as a hardworking, responsible and committed party member with a strong passion for the development of the local government.

Ajayi is regarded by his supporters as an influential young politician with extensive grassroots relationships and political networks across Lagelu.

His return comes as political parties intensify mobilisation and realignment efforts ahead of the 2027 elections, with major political platforms seeking to consolidate their structures and attract influential stakeholders at the grassroots.

APM supporters in Lagelu present at the ceremony described Ajayi’s return as a significant development for the party, saying his experience, networks and organisational capacity could contribute to strengthening the party’s grassroots structure.

The Stargate Construction CEO, according to the party is also expected to resume his political activities within the APM structure as the party prepares for the 2027 electoral contests in Oyo State.

Speaking with Westernmirror.com.ng shortly after the ceremony, Ajayi said he will soon embark on a wider consultation with party leaders in the council with a view to begin strategic plans for the execution of the forthcoming 2027 election.

He said the APM remains the party of the masses where every citizen is stakeholder as a result of their inclusive participation in government activities.

“If you look at the statewide consultation the state governor and government usually conduct every year before preparing budget, the process ensured that every geopolitical zone, local government and community has a say in what the next fiscal year reflects.

“That is responsive, responsible, and inclusive governance that only APC has remain committed to in the whole of Nigeria.

“By this process, the people own every decision and actions of government. This is what we have always advocated for and I’m more than proud to be associated with such leadership,” Ajayi said.
