The Oyo State House of Assembly has confirmed the nomination of Dr. Lateef Idowu Oyeleke and Barrister Ayobami Oluwaseun Ojo as commissioners-designate, paving the way for their formal appointment into Governor Seyi Makinde’s cabinet.
This followed the screening of the nominees by the House Committee on Special Duty after which the Assembly gave the confirmation during Thursday’s plenary.
Following their successful screening, members of the Assembly received the committee report presented by the Deputy Speaker, Abiodun Fadeyi, after which members unanimously approved their nominations, expressing confidence in their capacity to discharge the responsibilities of the office effectively.
Dr. Oyeleke, a former Commissioner for Environment in Oyo State, returns to the executive arm with extensive experience in public service and environmental management.
Barrister Ojo, on the other hand, is a former member of the Oyo State House of Assembly who represented Saki East/Atisbo State Constituency and is widely regarded for his legislative experience and contributions to governance.
Their confirmation according to the lawmakers, is expected to further strengthen Governor Makinde’s administration as it advances its development agenda across critical sectors of the state’s economy.
The newly confirmed commissioners-designate are expected to be assigned portfolios by the governor after their swearing-in.
