The Ibadan Electricity Distribution Company (IBEDC) has joined millions of Nigerians in celebrating the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, while calling for unity, responsibility, and collective action to build a greater Nigeria.
In a goodwill message issued by the company’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Engr. Francis Agoha, IBEDC congratulated Nigerians on the historic milestone and reaffirmed its commitment to national growth through better service delivery in the power sector.
The company highlighted this year’s theme, “Nigeria at 65: All Hands on Deck for a Greater Nation,” as a timely reminder that the task of nation-building requires collective effort.
“IBEDC remains resolute in contributing its quota to national development through improved power supply, prompt response to customer complaints, and deliberate efforts to bridge the metering gap across our franchise.
“We recognize that a sustainable power sector is central to economic advancement, industrial growth, and improved quality of life,” Engr. Agoha stated.
While assuring customers of uninterrupted services during the holiday, IBEDC urged members of the public to support efforts to strengthen the power sector by avoiding energy theft, vandalism of electricity infrastructure, and ensuring prompt payment of bills.
The company also emphasized safety, cautioning residents to supervise children, refrain from trading under high-tension wires, and engage only qualified electricians to handle electrical issues.
“Our technical teams are fully mobilized and ready to address any faults or disruptions during the Independence holiday.
