The Special Adviser to Oyo State Governor on Legislative Matters, Hon. Samuel Adejumobi, popularly known as Agbarapo, has described the safe rescue of the teachers and pupils abducted in Oriire Local Government Area as a strong indication that Oyo State will never surrender to terrorism, banditry or any form of criminality.

Agbarapo, in a statement made available to Westernmirror.com.ng on Friday evening, commended Governor Seyi Makinde for his steadfast leadership and consistency amid difficult situations throughout the rescue operation.

He noted that the successful release of the victims reaffirmed the administration’s unwavering commitment to protecting lives and property across the state.

The Legislative Adviser praised the governor for remaining calm and resolute despite public anxiety and pressure generated by the unfortunate incident, saying Makinde demonstrated responsible leadership by allowing security agencies to carry out their duties professionally without compromising the safety of the victims.

According to him, the successful operation has reinforced public confidence in the state’s security architecture and sent a clear warning to criminal elements that Oyo State is not a safe haven for kidnappers or bandits.

Agbarapo also commended the combined efforts of the Nigerian Armed Forces, the Nigeria Police Force, the Department of State Services (DSS), the Amotekun Corps, local intelligence networks and other security agencies whose coordinated operations culminated in the safe rescue of the victims.

He said the operation reflected the effectiveness of the intelligence-driven security strategy consistently championed by the Makinde administration.

“The successful rescue of the abducted teachers and pupils is more than the recovery of innocent citizens; it is a clear statement that Oyo State will not bow to terrorism, banditry or any form of criminal intimidation,” he said.

“This achievement once again demonstrates Governor Seyi Makinde’s commitment to the security and welfare of every resident of the state.

“His administration has continued to invest in security infrastructure, strengthen collaboration among security agencies and provide the necessary support for intelligence-led operations.”

Agbarapo urged residents to remain vigilant and continue to support security agencies with credible information, stressing that community participation remains essential in the fight against crime.

He also appreciated the families of the rescued victims for their patience and resilience during the difficult period, expressing delight that the children and their teachers had safely reunited with their loved ones.

The Legislative Adviser further called on the people of Oyo State to continue supporting the Makinde administration, assuring them that the government would remain committed to strengthening security across all parts of the state.

He maintained that the latest rescue operation has further demonstrated that with effective leadership, collaboration and sustained investment in security, criminal elements can be confronted and defeated.

Agbarapo reaffirmed that the Makinde administration would not relent in its determination to ensure that every part of Oyo State remains safe for residents, investors and visitors, adding that the government would continue to prioritise the protection of lives and property as a fundamental responsibility.
