The University of Ibadan School of Business Students Association (MBA) has honoured Oyo 2027 governorship aspirant, Hon. Samuel Ademola Adejumobi, popularly known as Agbarapo, with an Award of Appreciation.
The award was in recognition of his immense support and contributions to the success of the school’s MBA Week.
The award, presented on the 18th of October, 2025, was a mark of gratitude from the students’ body for Adejumobi’s “valuable contributions” towards the weeklong academic and social activities that characterized this year’s celebration.
According to the association, the recognition was not just for his material or moral support, but also for his consistent interest in youth development and education, values they described as essential for nation-building.
Atisbo born Adejumobi, who has remained a familiar name in Oyo State’s political especially in Oke-ogun geopolitical zone of the state, was praised by the UI students for embodying pragmatic leadership that listens and invests in people.
They noted that his gesture towards the MBA Week reflected a deeper commitment to nurturing the next generation of business leaders and professionals.
Receiving the award, Hon. Adejumobi, a former Majority Leader at the Oyo state Assembly and currently the Special Adviser on Legislative Matters to governor Seyi Makinde, expressed gratitude to the students and management of the University of Ibadan School of Business for the honor.
He commended the MBA students for their initiative and drive, describing them as the “future architects of a thriving economy driven by innovation, competence, and integrity.”
He further reiterated his belief that education remains a key pillar for sustainable development, adding that his engagement with academic communities will continue to be a priority, especially in his larger vision for Oyo State’s sustainable growth.
The MBA Week, an annual highlight of the UI School of Business calendar, brought together students, industry leaders, and public figures to exchange ideas and explore solutions to emerging business and economic challenges.
This year’s edition, themed around leadership, innovation, and entrepreneurship, featured workshops, lectures, and networking sessions that reinforces the relevance of business education in driving public and private sector reforms.
By honoring Hon. Samuel Adejumobi ‘Agbarapo’, the association said it hoped to encourage more partnerships between the political class and academic institutions in promoting an environment where ideas meet action and leadership is rooted in service.
