The Nigeria Police Force has announced that the physical and credential screening for shortlisted applicants in the ongoing recruitment of 50,000 police constables will commence in Oyo State on Monday, March 9, 2026.
The Oyo State Police Command disclosed that the exercise will take place at the Officers’ Mess located at the Command Headquarters, Eleyele, Ibadan, and will run until Friday, April 18, 2026.
According to a statement on Friday by the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Ayanlade Olayinka, the screening is being conducted by the Police Service Commission in collaboration with the Nigeria Police Force.
The Command advised all shortlisted applicants to strictly adhere to the specific date and time indicated on their invitation slips, which must be printed from the official recruitment portal.
Applicants are required to log on to the recruitment portal to confirm their status and print necessary documents ahead of the screening exercise.
At the venue, candidates are expected to present several documents including their invitation slip with assigned table, screening forms, proof of physical and mental fitness issued by a government-recognised medical hospital, National Identification Number (NIN) printout or NIMC card, O’ Level certificate, birth certificate or declaration of age, and a certificate of local government or state of origin duly signed by the appropriate authority.
Specialist applicants are also required to present trade test certificates where applicable, while all candidates must come with a duly completed guarantors’ form alongside both original and duplicate copies of their credentials arranged in two separate white flat files with recent passport photographs attached.
In addition, applicants must appear for the screening dressed in white T-shirt, white shorts, white canvas shoes and white stockings as stipulated for the exercise.
The Commissioner of Police in the state, Femi Haruna, reiterated that the recruitment exercise is completely free of charge and will be conducted with transparency and merit.
He warned applicants to be wary of fraudsters or anyone demanding money in exchange for assistance, stressing that anyone found engaging in such acts would be arrested and prosecuted.
The Command assured all eligible applicants of a smooth and credible screening process throughout the duration of the exercise.
